The racism in these comments is truly astounding. Racists aside the movie was meh. I'm glad Peg's solo stayed the same but why take away the Siamese cats? That was the best song in the original! I guess I just don't understand why Disney is remaking cartoons as "live action." Most of the dogs looked almost realistic! Which was pretty impressive. They nailed Trusty, for sure. It was ok. The first was better by 100% but as a stand alone kids movie, it was ok.

I liked it. I'm an outdoor survivalist type and I was pretty proud of all her decisions. Her acting was great, I felt her fear, I felt her anger. I was in it. You do see the creature. There is decent closure at the end. It's no happily ever after, but it suited the movie. It's 4 stars only because it didn't blow me away as amazing but it's good!

This is a beautiful story about the complicated and often awful relationship between an addict and her daughter. The comparison between the monster at home and the monster in the woods is absolute genius.
