I’m only putting 2 stars because most 1 star reviews are just trashing this movie but it genuinely is a movie that is a waste of time. The Purge has a nice plot on paper, though it’s very unrealistic and predictable all throughout. They make the home seem so impenetrable, yet the daughters boyfriend is able to sneak in and with the push of a button (with no conformation), all security is called off. I also could not explain more in depth how unrealistic this damn movie is. Why was it that all purge members focused on this house? The man, of course. I guess that man they let in is more important than any one else in the world, considering this event occurs once a year. The boyfriend wanted to kill his girlfriends dad? I mean really? We didn’t know a single thing about this man and he died 30 minutes into the movie. Why does this family not have a backup generator or a secondary light source? Maybe a addition room lockdown? Why does the family freak out on every action when this has occurred every year. Those kids grew up with this, shouldn’t the family have some backup plan? Maybe stick together? If this family were to stick together during the beginning of the movie, there would’ve been no movie. In conclusion, wouldn’t suggest it, if you like horror then watch horror.
