i really loved the color/mood of the show, and the music as well. alice was a really interesting character, but there were so many moments where i felt that the show has much much more potential than what actually occurred. not slow or boring per say, i was just reaching for more the whole time. chekov's gun comes to mind. it seemed like they were trying to create an obsession that alice had with sophie, but it felt like it was on the backburner. there was just so much more that i wanted to happen. it created the feeling of a string orchestra building for a jump scare but never getting the screeching payoff, hanging in a limbo of waiting for a climax to happen. this was my first time watching something in hebrew though, and i loved listening to the language, it's a really pretty one.

did i watch this solely to see rosamund pike kiss a girl? yes, and i was not disappointed. come on, both of the women in this movie were basically the only thing that made it worth watching tbh. I loved the escape scene where she gets out of the car underwater but that was about the only interesting, "thrilling" part of the film. Not really worth the watch though it felt about 30 minutes too long and it was so comically unrealistic, it's funny it took itself so seriously.

So damn confusing.. There's never been a movie like this where I can confidently say that I understood none of it at all. Not a waste of time like some people are saying, but a trip in fact, without the drugs. Just wow, I had no idea what was happening but I'm definitely gonna spend the next two weeks trying to dissect it.
