One of my biggest issues with this show is the “12” age rating. Was going to watch it with my 12 year old nephew but decided to watch the first episode myself to make sure it was suitable. It’s definitely not suitable for a twelve year old. The scene at the end of episode 1 where they are having cyber s*x and Emily reaches for her vibe beside the bed would have invited endless questions and caused lots of confusion. Yes my nephew knows the facts of life but at 12 years of age he doesn’t need to see this rubbish. Wanted to watch it as he’s never been to Paris, loves fashion and it looked like it might be fun but honestly Netflix please please don’t put a 12 rating on something that should be a 15 rating. Also, aside from all that, yes the show is vacuous and makes Parisians look they are mean and horrible when in fact I found the opposite to be true, having travelled there over 20 times and lived there for a month. Can’t believe this came from the Sex and The City writer, it’s just awful. The only realistic part is her apartment in the beginning and the staircase up to the fifth floor. My advice is don’t waste your time time unless the only Paris you know is the one you have seen on TV. Also the streets are far too clean - in reality there are piles of dog mess everywhere you walk but of course they won’t show that on this programme :-)
