Wow This is literally THE best book I’ve read. I’m still recovering from it but I don’t think full recovery will ever happen. I just- WOW. I wanna read it again and again and again. It’s PURE MAGIC

Disclaimer: this is a rating for the whole series CW: spoilers The Harry Potter books are basically about a kid who finds out he is a wizard and now has to defeat voldemort, who is an overly powerful villain that can’t be directly killed but instead kills random people for fun because he’s mad. Harry also has to deal with the fact that his parents are dead and he has to spend every summer with his mean relatives. Anyway, I wanted to list some pros and cons \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ PROS: I like how Voldemort has a past that is explored. Cause like a lot of times in books it just says “this is the villain they’re mean deal with it” but like here we slowly understand why Voldemort is the way he is There are a bunch of characters I really like: molly, tonks, Ron, Minerva, Hermione, Dudley, and some others but these are my main favorites. I like most of them just because of their personality, but molly and Ron are top tier. I liked when Harry was pretending to be dead lmao CONS: The plot was ok, but it didn’t make me feel something. It usually didn’t make me feel bad for the characters or good for the characters, and there wasn’t anything that really triggered my emotions. Sure, it was a pretty solid plot with like, zero plot holes, but it was too solid. There were some parts that were drawn out too long and some that were too short and yet the whole thing just felt stiff. Voldemort has too much power. He is so evil and none human. Now I get that’s the whole point of Voldemort but it honestly feel like we’re fighting an emotionless robot. To have a good story you need not only the protagonist to have feelings but the antagonist as well, or it’s all just boring and feels less real. On the point that he is way too powerful: dude. At least if you make someone powerful, the reader can enjoy the character’s reaction to their power. But since Voldemort is now just a robot ninja I guess I don’t care. Some characters feel kind of unrealistic. I’ve already touched on Voldy but I have to add hagrid and Charlie and cho and even dumbledore. I don’t like Harry’s personality. Yep. I just think he’s way too harsh with everyone all the time including Hermione and Ron.
