October Sky remains one of the most underrated biopic films of all-time, but the most true to it's time period and the events that happened. The cast is tremendously wonderful in this, and it showed us audience the brilliance that was about to come even more widely known by Jake G. (he was only 17-years old at the time, and was only on his 5th film appearance, and had yet to carry a film as the lead). This film also had both wonderful elements of history, comedy, drama, and family heart. It also gave us wonderful views on how inspiring many, if not most, teachers are to their pupils. I just wish the production company that released had had more competence in the film to give it more of a push to be seen more widely then it was back in 1999. It is a great family film of inspiring youth in a time, such as now, when have to deal with Covid-19, as well as showing why science is so important to solve and move us beyond where we are now.
