Gripping and gruesome The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat with a packed storyline. Though the initial few minutes might seem a bit slow, the point from which Surya enters, takes the story on to a whole new level. Extent of research into legal procedures and court craft is commendable. Certain scenes might shake you to the core so sit with tissues, (not for the weak hearted either). Overall 4.5/5

There are many reviews about the film but let me simply jot down the pros and cons. Pros :- Grandeur, life-like cinematic experience Strong dialogues Shahid's looks and physique Ranveer's acting Dramatic events and especially the Jauhar scene Cons :- Name should have been Alauddin instead of Padmaavat because it is Ranveer and Ranveer throughout Hardly any scenes of Deepika Story falls weak at places Few scenes could have been shown much better Sultan portrayed excessively negative

A very refreshing and rejuvenating yet emotional journey through the entire movie 'Praktan'. The entire essence of a failed relationship resulting from faults of both sides has been carefully held throughout the film. The idea of a parallel ongoing train journey was superb and phenomenally executed with the wide range of supporting cast. Each one of them had their 'Praktan' to contribute tothe syory. Catching the bengali sentiments was also a milestone move by the directors, be it from the train journey itself, to playing ludo, antakshari or the legendary poem in a legendary voice. The entire movie was really a treat and you are sure to get overwhelmed as each and everyone can realte to it.
