I came of age listening to Elton John & Bernie Toupin music. As we got older, I understood the ups & downs of his life. By the 80’s I lost all interest in Eltons music. Im pleased to see that in the 2000’s he’s settled down and seems to be happy. Given all of this, I found Rocketman to be very disappointing. It appears as though the movie was produced with a broadway musical in mind which is where this movie treatment will shine. The movie gust glossed over the rise, fall, rise, and none of the stability of his life/career. It’s like a watered down bubblegum version of his story. You know this by what he has said along with others in the music industry and his own off stage antics. I didn’t feel this movie had real depth or added meat to his story.
