This show has been a constant throughout my adult life. Each season explored a different phase of adulthood a decade before I reached it. In some ways it prepared me for what's to come, but mostly it had me laughing out loud to how ridiculous their lives played out, knowing full well this show was just modern screwball comedy at its finest. Although I couldn't relate to everything a character went through, I knew that each episode had something to offer, moments of compassion for the eccentricities of these privileged city dwellers through humor and satire, and examinations of flaws and biases I share with each of the characters. For the people who think the show was too political, it was definitely tongue in cheek, but it was the one show that made the current state of the world funny. W&G has always sought to be a reflection of the state that we live in, so it would be unfitting to ignore the context of where the characters live. If you truly felt everyone had a right to their opinion, then you would take the moments of political humor for what it was, and have a laugh, because someone somewhere in the world shares their sentiments. If different opinions still trigger you when it’s expressed by a dancing gay man or ditzy rich lady, then maybe you need to get out of your bubble for a bit or just watch a nature show or something without human interaction. Learning to laugh at yourself or laugh at the chaos in the world is a skill that this show has been teaching people from day 1. This is the best example of storytelling of modern American city life told through 4 Emmy-winning leads' characters' individual experiences with class, relationships, friendships, family, sexual orientation, neighbors, work, marriage, children, divorce, pride, jealousy, and most of all laughter to overcome everything life throws your way. Please never take what comedians say at face value. Please dear people that depended on this show to form an opinion on who to vote for, please look to other sources for news. There are many other channels for that.
