These movies are a bloated mess with a good story hidden in there. The decision to start off part 2 with Bruce Wayne under Poison Ivy's mind control, with absolutely no foreshadowing of this in the previous part nor any explanation or thematic resonance anywhere at all, is mind boggling. The inclusion of the many rogue's gallery villains is extraneous, random, and unnecessary. In the final climactic battle, the Joker is written as a random lackey with very few lines (the rest of the non-Two Face villains are too, but it's especially grating to see the Joker like that). This story is an insult to actual Batman fans.

This show has a lot going on beneath the wacky exterior. I can't stop thinking about it. It resonated with me on a surprising level. The only way this won't speak to you is if you have forgotten what it's like to be a kid.
