I grew up with the original Star Trek TV series and I really appreciate the nature and character of The Orville as it captures the fun, character-driven action, and schmaltzy sci-fi adventure like Star Trek did. Seth MacFarlane does a masterful job of combining the fun of Sci-Fi and excitement of adventure without getting dark or over the top - easy, enjoyable, family entertainment.
