LOVE IT!!! Listen to the song "One Boy" & the added choreography for the film. A wonderful, bittersweet song. Then, there's the showstopper: "Got a lot of Livin' to Do!" Bobby Rydell is made so cute in that smile and Ann Margaret is dynamite! Vivien Leigh was no newcomer to singing & dancing either. Very pleasant phrasing & vibrato. Dick Van Dykes FIRST film role. The show parodies Elvis Presley & the authors went further to name Conrad Birdie/for/Conrad Ditty. And, later, "Rydell High" (in GREASE) afte Bobby Rydell. Other surprises! Thanks.

Google, may I kindly have a copy of my composition (Review) of "Coming Through the Rye". I failed to select/copy/& paste my text which was a good formal writing exercise which I would like to keep. If it is selected to "Post", I haven't a clue where to find it.

Humphrey Bogart, an American movie Icon was adequate and extremely poised given he had not portrayed a psychotic before. But I am too move by "Robert Francis" and his blue eyes (non since but Lee Remick who also died horribly & too soon). Francis had a GREAT career cutout for him and an effortless & convincing performance. He played in 4 films--none of them stood the power of "The Caine Mutiny". He died the following year in a small plane crash with his girlfriend at the age of 25, on June 31, 1955; only his 2nd year of acting. The resemblance to Tab Hunter is astounding in his handsome, blond good looks, but Francis' eyes were more spectacular. One asks of the shame of it? Why Robert Francis life cut off violently in the peak of his physical prime? Why not some DUI, non contributing alien? Did Christ protect the "alien". BAH!

"Kill Your Darlings", was beautifully & tastefully done! Interesting, the attention paid to Radcliffe to make his "Ginsberg"--nose putty, black hair dye, brown opaque contacts & considerable fat. Atmospheric "Beat Generation". 78-rpm records, Bee Bop, Swing, the south Bronx Jazz Clubs. A thoroughly enjoyable flick cast with young, developing talent.

He has so much humility in his character in 1999 which is lacking in later performances and a lot more real hair. I like these characters!

Waited for HBO, who faithfully reproduced the amazing 3-D Soundtrack. About Spielberg, I don't understand how he would be interested in doing this after watching his HBO-Biography just the day before. 8 Dec '18, was HBO's (free) streaming + cable release date. A day later, today is my THIRD Watching. "Nostalgia of the '80's" - I don't get that reviewer's comment, but I'm workin' on it! I am 79.
