Old person Who Cares

This was a fun movie. The demons in hell were a good representation of Hieronymus Bosch illustrations of the demons of hell. I was not familiar with the language spoken until I came here and found that it was Catalan. Really interesting choice. I knew it wasn't Spanish; I considered Romanian but it didn't seem right for that. It is apparently a decedent Keltic and Latin. I had a hard time getting into it but got caught up in the tale and the tail! Funny and scary. Take a moment or two to look up Bosch and see his fantastical paintings for a real look into a medieval view of hell!.

This movie is an interesting fantasy. It stresses the importance of honor as our greatest value. It makes sense to me as I was brought up in the belief that honor is all important. No one can make you keep it but no one can take it away, if you keep it. I thought the film was well done and because it used many warrior histories, it made figuring out the story somewhat difficult. To complain that it was slow for modern audiences is true. The same was said about "Hunt of Red October". Automated sis boom bah is what most expect. Not here but wonderful stunting. It seemed more stunt people and than actors, which I think is the case in all action movies.

I just watched this movie again tonight. Stunning photography in stunning country. I understood it much more now that I am old. If you didn't know people who lived then, don't judge. I did. My dad was born in 1898, told stories about working for his Uncle Sam in Montana when it wasn't a state. I knew some of his relatives who lived in those times. I love the bear. He's been in a lot of movies and TV series. I don't think there is another like him. From the historical records I've read, I think the film does a good job of encapsulating WW1. It is very hard for people of the city life to understand the difference from now and then. Enjoy this movie for what it is. A romance full of the grief and troubles that afflict most humans. This thing seemed like a bad story written by a troupe of adolescent boys high on cocaine. The stunt people are the stars of this movie. It was a succession of stupid lines and moves. It never seemed to know if it was in humor or serious about the story line. I remember the original TV show "Mission Impossible" which had a point during the cold war. Even then, it was still tongue in check. I'm sure glad I didn't waste money at a theater and just watched it streaming, but I kept asking myself "why are you watching this??"

Tension lacking say critics. What do they know. As an old person, the film says to me about the weight of years that only old people understand. I remember the agony these years were to people who felt so helpless at the events in that country. Nothing is ever over. The Bible was right when it commented "Let the sins of the fathers be on the children. They always were and are and will be. Right next door to Vlad Dracul's homeland. He is still a hero to many there. No different to these guys. Just another guy ton sacrifice for current politics.
