Multiple things I disliked about this book- the author clearly didn’t do any research on vocations of her characters- there is no world where a Dr wears his scrubs home from work and to be a neurosurgeon at 30 is exceptional. A chef/ owner that still wants to cook when he comes home from work? What chef is home at 7pm to play poker with his mates- isn’t that the dinner rush?
Two- I highly doubt a 16 year old’s first intimate experience is going to be like she describes. Pretty much all the sex scenes even when they are adults give an unrealistic expectation of hetro sex.
Three- the character development in this book makes no sense- there’s not enough depth to them and they seem very flat. Does no one have friends in this book?
These are just three examples of how unrealistic this book is, there are multiple more and I constantly felt like I was eye rolling and scoffing at how easily opening her shop was, how easily she became friends with some rando who asked if she could work in her store. Everything is way too “easy”- again totally unrealistic.
It was very high school writing, I found the dv angle not filled out enough/ explored.
Was a disappointing read. My first Colleen Hoover and prob my last
