In 24 hours I binged watched this new series "Virgin River" about Mel, a nurse practioner from L.A. who moves to a small town in northern C.A. to start a new life and discovers the job and the house she was promised is not what she signed up for. The quacky mayor of the town, Hope, who makes everyones life her business, played by Annette O'toole (starred as Lana Lang, Superman 3), is married to the old fashion doctor, played by Tim Matheson (starred as Otter in Animal House) who doesn't think "Mrs Hollywood" has the capabilities to help run his one man practice which happens to be the only one in town. Jack, former Marine and owner of a bar that serves the best gourmet and organic food in the town, is sorta the nobel knight who comes to everyones rescue when ever anyone needs help, is working with Hope to keep Mel in town because the town needs her, but also because Jack is also taken by this beautiful, intelligent, and a tough ER nurse who can handle being under pressure. Both Jack and Mel suffer from PTSD, but Mel's is not from an Iraq battlefied but from something she is trying to run away from. Both she and Jack seem to be the perfect match but will fate allow it? I will have to wait to find out in Season 2! Thank you Netflix for bringing us this series!
