Didn’t even live up to half of the greatness as the original. Only Fantasia, Taraji, & the actress that played Sofia had great character development and acting worth watching. Young celie and young Nettie had the WORST onscreen chemistry by far. Accents were off and weren’t cohesive within the cast. Everything seemed forced and rushed. Iconic elements from the original were missed opportunities here. And HER did not need to act in this at all, she was terrible by far. She should’ve just been in the soundtrack but someone else definitely should’ve did her acting for her.

Someone must’ve blackmailed the creator because this movie is really good with an unpredictable ending but all I see is people bashing it, for no absolute reason.

Worst movie ever. So cheesy. The only good part was the first 10 minutes. Very predictable.
