I read the book. I don't get it. Never explains the feud between the great houses. Never explained why the Spice Melange is so important to the universe, Never explained the bene geserate. Never saw the emperor. Never saw the spacing guild. What was this movie about? It's Star Wars for the millennials. A young boy is thrust from his home world to save the Galaxy. The mentat mantra: It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is the juice of safu that thoughts acquire motion, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning it is by will alone I set my mind in motion. - Never seen, never explained. (Except the funny eyes turning white, what a laugh) Imperial conditioning: Dr Yueh was never explained as the Traitor. His Suk conditioning was supposed to make him impenetrable to bribery, corruption, extortion or blackmail. - Never explained. Why did he become the traitor! I now think David Lynch's version is closer to the book (Except for the rain at the end) Best adaptation. SciFi's Mini Series.
