Although the show itself is entertaining, the amount of artistic license used in this show is breathtaking. I'm not a history buff, but I think some of the facts the show presents could be considered preposterous. If anything, it's a patronizing insult and slap in the face to all blacks - especially African Americans. The fact that black slave trade was so prevalent during that time, with the British in charge of it, While it's true that Queen Charlotte was a person of color, it's highly doubtful there would be that many British royals who were black.
Is this Netflix' way of appeasing the "cancel culture" by elevating black people's stature at a time when they were considered nothing but servants?
