By watching 1917, a new generation, especially millennials, gain an insight and an interpretation of WW1 that they might never have had the chance to have seen or heard about before or would have chosen to read about or learn about. This film brings the horrors of WW1 in to the psyche and reality of a new generation and reminds both older generations and younger generations of the wickedness of war and the waste of lives. Lives that were snubbed out in a second while they were simply following orders and fighting for their country and doing their duty. A re-enactment of a piece of history. Lest we forget.
