Scoob is an adequate time waster; It combines two of my favorite genres. Scooby-doo horror comedy meshed with the exhilarating superhero genre. In that context I immensely liked the film. Any film with such amiable characters is worth anybody's time. Shaggy and Scooby-doo personifies friendship. Something so genuine we as an audience aspire to seek such strong ties! With such lofty praise why am I ambivalent towards the film?
It's lacking some element which is prevalent in Scooby-doo media. Where is the ominous ambience? The ghosts monsters etc that petrify Shaggy and Scooby , and any other pedestrians whom were unfortunate to serendipitously discover the spirit in question. Scooby-doo captivates audiences because of a simple formula. Inquisitive teens are inadvertently caught in a supernatural mystery in which they resolutely commit to solving the case. The frightening monsters haunted houses and it being a mystery is what made Scooby-doo unique as a brand! Why is Scooby-doo On Zombie Island still popular?
The only absurdly Progressive comment that I found to be insipid was "ToxicMasculinity" ...Really movie? This is a superhero film!
Masculinity is requisite!!!!!
I give this film a B+
