Loved It - many of the characters, while being nothing like the high school students I knew 35+ years ago, still show some depth and quirkiness. The main love triangle fascinates b/c neither is a wholly bad or good guy, and certainly Devi is complicated herself. The cringe-y moments are still there! But the more detailed stories for mom Nalini and cousin Kamala are great, and the addition of grandma is welcome. The portrayal of a multigenerational immigrant South Asian household resonated with me as a product of one. Dying to see what happens next since I tore through 10 episodes in 2 evenings! May need to go back to Season 1 again...

I've watched this several times. It's hard to describe: a concert x dance performance × marching band × play × social commentary × monologue = it's all of these and more. It made me think and laugh and sing and dance and exalt...it gave me hope and we can always use some of that, right? Just watch it. Then watch it again.

This show was like nothing that came before it - a story full of mysteries, coincidences, and twists that are tough to predict. It's 118 episodes so not all hold up. But the cast - one of the most diverse long before people noticed these details and cared - is full of great actors and the dynamics among them are what hold your attention. We are watching now with our younger boys who are 11 and they are intrigued. So far it's holding up on a second go-around. Highly recommend.

Fantastic cast and terrific performances. This is the “feel-good” show I need right now.
