Where do I start?! Lion Heart is a masterpiece (and this is just me trying to be conservative with my praises). Genevieve has stolen our hearts with this brilliant and masterfully crafted work of art! Zero nudity, zero forced humor, brilliant pacing, superb writing and an absolutely stunning cinematography. The ensemble cast was excellent and I agree with the reviewer who said Pete Edochie reminded her of the majestic presence and carriage of Mufasa in Disney's 1994 'The Lion King'.
One of my favorite lines from the movie was from Adaeze’s mum (the ever young Onyeka Owenu), "Never come between two brothers".
The shift from Lagos to Enugu and Kano was one of the best decisions made and the eventual bonding of Eastern and Northern Nigeria in the movie, really moved me emotionally.
This movie, like it or not, love it or hate it, has set the standards for Nollywood to follow, if, it is smart enough to do so. This movie was star studded and still managed to handle having such top notch actors and entertainers so well, unlike 'Chief Daddy' which also had a lot of competent actors but was a disappointment (here I am still trying to be conservative).
Genevieve, you are a trail blazer! Thank you for showing the world who we truly are as a people; hard working, competent, extremely creative and resilient. Nigeria is grateful!
