The cinematics are good but I have two major problems with this series. The first is that it is riddled with errors, which is a surprise given Turnbull’s reputation among historians of this field. They say that Oda Nobutada died at Azuchi Castle when in fact he was in Kyoto at the Nijo palace. They also say that Oda Nobutaka was older than Nobukatsu when the opposite was true. Also, for what it’s worth, Mitsuhide never found Nobunaga’s body because the Honno-ji was on fire. That’s just off the top of my head. The other thing I don’t like is how much Nobunaga’s career was just glossed over. They didn’t mention the subjugation of Mino or the fight against the Azai and Asakura clans, among other things. They could have done the whole first season on Nobunaga and done Hideyoshi for the second.
