though split, indeed, has tremendous acting, it is an awful representation of real people with the disorder, dissociative identity disorder, or DID. the exposure this movie has brought to society itself is fallacious. due to this film being one of the only pop-culture portrayals of the disorder, multitudes of people genuinely believe that the people with DID are all like this. having all DID exhibition be negative, dysfunctional or pessimistic is confidingly damaging to the community and the worlds' perspective of not only the disorder, but the people with it. to many people with the disorder, the movie is seen as offensive & insulting. it's almost misinformation, or misleading, so though the storyline or plot is noteworthy & prominent, it portrays DID in an unthinkable & offensive way.
