Ok this was one of the most difficult books I have ever read, and I LOVED IT. I do not have a strong understanding of physics, but eventually (with the help of Google), things came together for me and wow I learned some stuff. Besides that, such an incredible story. Not the usual predictable earth is being invaded by aliens! The book poses philosophical questions and makes the reader dig deep. I also took a Modern Chinese Politics course in college and I am also friends with a man who lived through the Cultural Revolution, having heard his story of his and his family's suffering. I do not profess to understanding in any way what people went through, but the author made the pain of one of the characters so real to me. The book is just amazing and I cannot stop thinking of the ideas it has brought to my mind.....and I am now on chapter 3 of the second book!
