Japan's rapid expansion across the Pacific was stopped and never again expanded. America now had the beginnings of a 3 1/2 year victory in the making. The new film Midway is the most historically accurate film that finally recognizes my unsung hero of the Battle of Midway, Lt. Dick Best. I had the good fortune to become his friend, conduct his video oral history interview. Upon his death he left me his personal library and his personal memorabilia. I am honored.
