Incredibly exciting, intense film! Das Boot was made in 1981 but it can easily rival any war action film made today. Even though this film is about German soldiers operating a U boat in the Atlantic destroying allies in WW2, it could easily have been flipped to the allies in a submarine fighting the elements and trying to stay alive while serving their country. All soldiers experience the same feelings of patriotism, pride, fear, pain, hope and longing for loved ones. Das Boot depicts the horror of war for ALL involved. Note: An excellent film which shows the other side, US destroyers crossing the Atlantic with the tankers and ships bringing supplies to allies, is “Greyhound” with Tom Hanks.

If I could give a negative star I would. Truly the worst film I have ever seen.

This is an unsettling suspenseful thriller with a cunning cast of disturbing characters. It’s about corrupt versus corrupt and which one do you want to come out on top.
