Zack Snyder had me 10 minutes into this movie! It's truly unfortunate that corporate movie executives can override the artistic talents of great directors who are geniuses at their craft. This movie is a glaring example of how simply being motivated by the bottom line in the long-run can ruin a production. There's a back story to why Snyder had to step away from the project (those that are interested can Google it) but the executive decision to scrap his cut, to hire Josh Whedon to take over the director's chair, and to reshoot a majority of the film was a tremendous mistake. Don't get me wrong, Josh Whedon has proven his talents in his time with the MCU but to enlist him to take over the helm in midstream was destructive to both directors. It's like hiring another artist to finish the painting or sculpture of the one who started the work. Both artists may be talented, but each has their own style and vision. Synder's cut is well-connected and shows greater continuity with source material. His cut fills in the many holes left open by Whedon's version. I enjoyed how Snyder presented the movie in the form of multiple acts, such as seen in a play. Zack Snyder's cut is much longer, 4 hours run time to be exact, but well worth the watch.
