I'm a Christian, but even I can forgive the blatant misrepresentations of biblical stories, and the deeds and character of Jesus described in it. I can overlook the misunderstandings of very basic Christian religious tenants portrayed in this show. I happen to think, conceptually, this shows portrayal of a messiah (whoever it may be) in a modern day world, to be BRILLIANT idea. But this show is soooooooo drawn out and incredibly slow paced. I can't even properly explain to you the main plot because in a vain effort to keep this messiah mysterious, they reveal absolutely nothing about him. So all of season 1 is about side stories about the different characters, AND THEIR FAMILIES, that has some mysterious connection to this messiah. That's certainly an interesting way to do it, but I personally kept on having to ask "who is this character?" "Why should I care what happens to him/her?" "What is going on?" At the end of the season I was thoroughly confused. They left a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of the season, but by then I'm just so mentally exhausted that I don't care anymore what certain characters have planned. I believe a good story should get the audience somehow emotionally attached to the protagonist in the first act, and this show failed to do that. This is just waaaaaay too slow
