A 'flat' movie without any depth in the story. Unrealistic portrayals of women eg. the successful actress who supposedly falls madly in love with a failing alcoholic depressed doctor who asks her for non committal hookup sex (she apparently jumps at the opportunity lol) ... very demeaning and ridiculous. Frankly l have no problem with the rebel character Shahid portrays, just that its a bit unrealistic ie. a 28 yr old man going devdas obsessed on a 19yr old girl... no guy is that in love and stupid. Not in this day and age. And to have zero mature communication skills at that age to save his relationship is ludicrous. He decides to commit suicide while giving her six hours to leave her family and join him. She does but by that time he is already in coma Lol maybe he should have waited a few days to kill himself? Its just that all the characters are so unrealistically dumb/stupid - kabir, actress, kabirs family, the girl is still OK... but there's no depth to the story. After 8 months its all happily ever after. Dude, just could have chilled at home for 8 months and then contacted her... timeline was unrealistic. To get to that extreme stage of devdas as Kabir did it takes years maybe a decade. 8 months is two short vacations with a gap in between for jet lag. Lol
