SPOILER ALERT !!!!!!!!!
I really hope people to see the real meaning of this movie. It has a very powerful message. It's about a young girl Amy who is torn between her conservative family values and what extelremely free spirited kids of her are doing. The movie shows two extreme sides of a society. One is her conservative family, where her father has gotten a second wife, and her mother has to pretend that she is happy for her husband and his new wife. The other is her surrounding outside her, where kids her age are doing whatever they want, this might sound good but it includes fights over small things, social pressure to be liked, affects of socials media on kids these days, young girls wanting to look more matured etc etc. Amy gets fascinated by a dance crew( of girls her own age). She wants to be free as them, to dance like them and to be one of them. She tries everything to be accepted by them. In doing so she crosses so many moral lines. At this point she just wants people to like her and can't differentiate right from wrong. Eventually she realizes that she has gone too far. At the end, when she leaves behing both her gown which her father had bought and the dance costume, and walks out with a jeans and a top. I personally felt, it symbolised that she just wants to be a happy kid. Not a kid under pressure from her family to follow their rule, not a kid under pressure to be liked by everyone her age, just a normal kid who wants to play, smile and enjoy her life.
