The anatomy draws a blank! No conclusive evidence either way. And for the bereaved who cannot stop crying, there is no effort to understand, analyse, or look for evidence herself to establish cause, motive or question if there had been any third party input. The bereft always want answers. Some blame the individual for not fighting their own cancer! The script is fairly well written, the defence lawyer - if that was his role - is a captivating character, but the scenes drag on and on and is a hard watch. It is not an anatomy or it is a failed anatomy. There is an absence of real detective work and forensics - unless we are expected to think that it was given. And for the most part we would expect the scenes to eventually play out to offer us the cause and effect - but we never know if its accident, deliberate or murder. Reviews implied there was to be a torrid expose of venomous verbal attacks and exchanges but it failed on that level too. The film was a disappointment. No sudden turning point, no hint of guilt, regret, deceipt, cover-up, suggestion, alteria motive. If there was a message, it was that the so called anatomy was bereft of a burden of proof or suggestion that suspected murder failed the test of beyond all reasonable doubt. Perhaps her lack of joy at winning the case reflected her innocents, but then again, as was frequently suggested throughout the film, she simply lacked feeling and care and was more wrapped-up in herself. The essence of this film centres on verbal exchanges about suspicion.
