I was honestly confused as to what the plot was for a good portion of the film. I hate to admit that I was bored watching it, but not bored enough to stop watching. It’s boring but interesting (I may have only been bored because I didn’t understand at first), as I wanted to keep watching to see what all the commotion was leading up to. It all eventually comes together and starts to make sense, I believe it was Grizabella’s second appearance at the tryouts where the plot was clear and I finally understood what was happening. I wasn’t a big fan of the music in the beginning, as musicals are supposed to be dramatic with intense singing, only got that from a few of the characters. However I loved the film, I may be biased because I love Jennifer Hudson, but I’d definitely watch it again. I suggest having an open mind before watching this for the first time.
