As the father of someone's with severe autism and he's nonverbal, the kid who plays David totally nailed it. This is a fantastic movie and it's very deep, touching on every aspect of raising someone who's nonverbal and autistic. Especially if you're doing it alone. Saw this movie in 94 when my son was only 7 and 30 years later it's still as good as when I originally saw it in 94. It's definitely stood the test of time. How many movies can you say that about? Stellar acting and the actor who plays David definitely did his research and homework on autism and autistic nonverbal people. The writing is fantastic and totally rings true with real life. Can't say enough good things about this movie. Hits all the right buttons.
