8 years for a title loaded with glitches, a flat story with layman’s narrative, and clunky repetitive mechanics... 0 challenging emotionally, morally gray and at times problematic and extremely surfacy, if graphics of this caliber were available back then Cyberpunk 2077 could have easily been released in 1977. Despite people claiming it is immersive, Night City is actually just a boring cardboard facade overflowing with cheap tropes and a vapid rehashed dictionary / tick the boxes / google search definition of the “cyberpunk” aesthetic. You can “interact” with characters but all they respond back with are badly-voice-acted one-liners that contribute nothing to the story, penises keep clipping thru clothing while a lazy OST filled with licensed material plays in the background as you shoot your way (because stealth is completely useless) through the same badly 3D rendered enemies over and over and over. Cyberpunk 2077 is a tunnel vision hellhole of unrealized potential, stuck in dev-hell, akin to a late-beta at best and should have been kept in the incubator. Hopefully the devs recognize their shortcomings and patch this trashy mess before anyone else spends $100 on it; and even then, there’s no saving how boomer it all feels.
