Halloween Kills? No Halloween blows. It all starts with the opening pumpkin as the credits roll, and even though it was a really good idea it's execution just isn't good, it's scattered about like all those pumpkin, and that was when I realized this movie was going downhill from there
Everything about this movie really could have worked. The main plot is not bad, would have been great if done right. Unfortunately mostly everything just isn't done right. The acting is, well it's bad, and the a lot of the script seems like it was a first time writer saying to himself "I think this is how normal people talk in real life", the first half of the movie tries to be more of a comedy playing on stereotypes, and by the time it gets serious the pacing is just not there.
Characters make some really dumb choices in this movie. To the point it's antiplot armour. They're fodder, they are one dimensional and you don't care if they die. Instead this movie really relies on gore, and its stuff we've seen hundreds of times before.
I don't get why studios do this, a movie makes a decent profit so they rush a second one into production with no real care for the source material
Was rooting on this as I love Halloween and thought 2019s was a decent sequel. I doubt id ever watch this again
