Listen, I know most people wouldn't like this movie, particularly those who've read the book expecting a 100% adaptation. It is NOT for everyone, it's aimed towards the teen/young adult audience. It checks every romcom box you can expect, it's predictable & cliche, and nothing new that you've already seen before. And yet despite all that, I REALLY enjoyed this. And I don't just say that to every new Xmas movie as of recently. Every character was relatable and likeable, the relationships were easy to invest into and root for, the soundtrack was on point, the cinematography & direction was solid, and the young cast here pulled their weight and did really solid across the board. My honest advice is to don't be afraid to enjoy something and worry what other people think. Leave your expectations (if any) at the door, go into this movie fresh, and it might just pleasantly surprise you, like it did with me. All in all, it's a YA "Love, Actually" and there's nothing wrong with that. Also, for those who have read the book, try not to compare it to the movie TOO much. Plus, you can never go wrong with a Xmas/winter romcom or similar movies like this, especially during the holidays. However, most rigid critics & diehard book fans that I've seen who've talked about the film doesn't have to convince me any more that I'm seemingly the only person on Earth that genuinely likes this movie. 😔

This is probably the most wistful, whimsical, holiday binge watch I've had all year, in the best way. I didn't actually binge watch this, just saw each episode for a few days because I wanted to savor the story. I know the fact of leaving behind a red notebook for a stranger to follow you, on top of all the lavish apartments and teenagers are highly intelligent, independent and mature for their age is anything but reality, but it all works here and I can't help but get caught up with the whimsy of it all. Both leads were wonderful, the New York festive backdrop was sweet eye candy, the supportive characters were solid, and it's a fun insightful adventure with events playing out in both alternative POVs. A more than worthy spot to add on your holiday rotation.

I watched this a while ago back in November and the reviews for this said the exact thoughts I was thinking at the moment. It's the true essence of a guilty pleasure show, like Riverdale. I understand that this was a fun, frothy escapist show to just look at for the visuals alone. Paris looks pretty, no doubt about that. Emily, the main character, was pretty ignorant and annoying and the show does a lot of chiches on French people and the culture. The cast, including Lily Collins, all do their best with what they're given, but binge watching this straight through I could see what people are saying negatively about it. Let's just say, it's a guilty pleasure watch for better and worse.

This was a straight up wonderful movie, and an uplifting one for the LGBTQ+ community. It's nice and refreshing to watch a gay story that DOESN'T end in tragedy, such as death or abuse. Not saying that those movies aren't worth watching, but it's long overdue to have a movie that is light hearted and inspires people to love who you love, and it can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter the age or sexuality. The cast is great, especially Nick Robinson as Simon and the soundtrack is well crafted. Also, Neil Patrick Harris said it best that this movie is more "16 Candles" than "Brokeback Mountain".
