Hoodies All Summer is better than the last album, Made in The Manor, and Made in The Manor was excellent. Kano, like fine wine, keeps getting better and better with each album. This album, HAS, has the feel of a much needed narrative of the state of affairs in East Ham (where he's from) and other poverty stricken hoods across London.
The style of the music is very artistic, I'm hearing different kinds of musical genres in just about each song. Though I'm not an expert on Grime music, I feel like he's rapping (spitting) in Grime time to some music that's not necessarily your typical Grime. The music reminds me of twenty øne piløts and how they fuse different genres into one lovely whole, where you're forced to not label it as to what genre but instead to, just enjoy it,... think 'Chlorine'. By the way, I would really love to see Kano and twenty øne piløts do something together, that would be a Maad Ting!
Again, I'm not a Grime expert but I think track 9, 'Class of Deja' is what typical Grime should be, both the spitting and the beats. Kano's accent (reviewing from Jamaica, NY, Hey :) ) makes the whole experience even more authentic, I love it. I just wish HAS was longer.
