It's one of those films you really do need to watch.
I'd say it's hard, very difficult, stumbling upon a film and to commit to watching something, especially a something like one's biography, and to enjoy it thoroughly.
Unfortunately, this is not that film.
Commitment is not required, it is not a stand-in for amusement.
"Stuart: A Life Backwards" was a film, that apart from the man's debilitating denouement, I found akin and a real likeness towards. A film, and a book, you will find yourself pausing, stopping many times because the subtlety of sufferings are too painful to willow on by, and equally a source for reality you will find yourself never wanting to end.
However, eventually it does end, and so does its life. But never once, like life's counterparts, will it disappoint you, it has no keen disregard for letting you go on cold with a romanticized death or pathetic characterization.
This film, I will admit, has saved portions of my life, at times when I nearly thought those portions were keepsake wastes.
Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy have you yearning for a friendship quite like theirs, and an exchange of loyalty quite like Masters'.
It is a beautiful film. And I recommend that everyone see it.
