Yes I was baffled throughout the first episode. Haven’t seen the second.
Just too funny sound bites to be reality tv. The gentle quip about Les Dennis gave it away.
Superb observational comedy. Great juxtaposition.
Poshest ‘made it’ granddaughter invites her lonely grounded over
honest outspoken relative, who is alone and bereft from Doncaster to live with her… The very successful Amanda attempts to ‘rescue’ and live with her Nan in her controlled London show home.
Was completely fascinated.
Myself originally from the North. I remember women like Nan, not many! From a long time ago. One even less subtle in the south. Outrageous, astonishing, jaw dropping, yet quite wonderful.
I think a fabulous performance from ‘Nan’, got us all confused…Job done.
Amanda Holden and her little girls and ‘dad’ were terrific, had me sold and confused at the same time…Great tv.
Anyways give the ‘Nan man’ a BAFTA . Superb. Best of his characters for me. By far. Tricked so many of us.
I’d give an award to Amanda for her straight faces if there was an award for that.
An extremely funny concept, because it’s so close to the truth. Not like any of us are celebrities, just that each generations style /lifestyle/morals clashes with the next, on so many levels, past, present, clearly future, on and on, where the heck is the middle ground? Oh Aunty Ivy….
No it’s not just a posh immaculate London home, any home getting their Nan and Nans old couch squashed into their own space is a huge challenge……
Let’s see how the ‘Holdens’ make believe family situation come to a resolution….A demanding ask…
Seems comedy is the hardest….
I think well done to you all on this one. Writers and performers.
Very dry, provocative, uncomfortably funny.
The biggest compliment: I think Terry Jones would be proud of you Nan.
Not my place to say. For the remaining Pythons to disagree.
Kind of the best of perfect squirmy uncomfortable British observational humour…..
Bad reviews
/ comments I hope you will eat your critics for breakfast….XC
Saying that..I hope this series grows , something to say in the end, after such a great start. One to watch and wait for, seemingly excellent wry writers…Let’s see… No pressure chucks…..
