Egzona Rexhepi

The entire first half of this movie made no sense. There were plot holes and also there were so many storylines that were randomly thrown in for dramatic effect or completely abandoned halfway through. They really struggled with character development, especially for HLR's character. They tried to throw in way too many storylines that were never developed to make her seem like a quirky, "not like other girls" character. They also randomly throw in the fact that her sister is dead halfway through the movie (this is the first time you ever hear she has a sister) to make her seem damaged or to create conflict between her and Sprouses's character. Their love story also makes no sense and is really abrupt. The acting by Cole Sprouse, Hailey Lu Richardson, and one supporting character (the nurse) was good but IMO it couldn't save the movie. I'm still glad I saw it because I did think it was cute - albeit kind of cringey - in the second half. And I appreciate that they brought awareness to CF while making it! I just hope Justin Baldoni and the writers learn from some of their mistakes in this movie because I'd love to see more.
