Disappointed by this film. Dumb plot. At the start why does James Mason pretend to be someone else when he thinks the person he’s talking to knows exactly who he is, indeed that’s the reason he is trying to kill him!
And, except to allow Hitchcock to film a dramatic scene, why does he dream up a ridiculously convoluted way to try and kill him when he has him locked up in his girlfriends carriage already. Grant can be good when he is menacing and charming at the same time, here he just looks knackered. YMS is beautiful but a hopeless actress. The dialogue, supposedly very funny, is predictable and on one note, a lorry load of sub James Bond dry one-liners in the face of intense danger. I was rooting for James Mason when they were on Mount Rushmore.
