I picked up this book as a holiday read. Once I started reading, could not put this book away till I reached the end! This is a must read! My first read of this author and definitely won't be the last as I went and bought 2 other novels written by Sally Hepworth.

I just finished reading this book! It is so well-written and such a great read. I actually felt that I was in Fiji during that era as I was reading. The characters are simply amazing and so well-written. The story narration through the main character - Akal Singh is beautiful, thought-provoking and emotional and sad at the same time. It is a must read for everyone!
