This film showcases Mr. Chaplin's comedic skills at their best. I can only imagine the laughter it must've caused among audiences in theaters, now over a hundred years ago. Though it doesn't contain the pathos I always look forward to in many of his movies, "the Rink" doesn't require it. The film was made entirely for laughs and totally delivers them. Has to be one of the Little Fellow's best all-around shorts for pure comedy and breathtaking physical timing. "The Rink" is a treat from start to finish--a wonderful finish to a delightfully madcap, merry romp. One actually feels sad when it ends, wishing it could go on forever!
