(spoiler alert probably)
Very minimal plot which makes it pretty boring. I can accept the lack of conflict if there was some character development, but nothing really concrete seemed to happen except between Julie and Jamie maybe. As is the flaw with many pretentious films, the dialogue is vague throughout, like a parody of all the deep conversations you've ever had. Overall the movie tried to be meaningful and ingenious but it's unrealistic and odd. Like the way the epilogue is talked about in the future tense. I found that outstandingly bizarre but you may like it. The epilogue also does not really tie into the little character development any of the characters went through or the narrative at all in general. Felt like they thought the movie had to end some way, so they just gave everyone good endings out of nowhere.
The characters are obviously meant to be relatable, which you may find that they are because they are complex and somewhat fleshed out, with backstories of varying amounts of intrigue, but personally I could not relate to any of the characters, despite being a teen. Maybe if you had the nostalgia of the 1970s, it would be a more enjoyable film. Still somewhat interesting throughout for what it is, not really captivating though, hence two stars.
