A feel good movie, but peppered with ridiculously implausible situations (on the night his mother wins the US presidential election, the First Son rides bikes through Austin to his old house with an English Prince, unaccompanied...yeah) and predictable, somewhat irritating dialogue. The boys are very pretty, but the acting is bland overall; you get some sense of the gravity of his situation from Galitzine, but Perez seems to be just snazzy outfits, pecs and eyelashes and not much else...I don't get much depth, though the writing doesn't help either of them there.
Not terrible, but could have been so much better. Here's hoping BOYFRIEND MATERIAL's adaptation fares better...
