The first episode establishes that plump angsty teens still exist 10 years after Rick Grimes wakes up in the hospital. By the second episode, the typical formulaic parade of "diverse" characters begins to steal minutes to devote to how victimized said angsty survivors are via origin-story flashbacks. I was hoping that later episodes would see the characters shed the weight as they confront the wilderness, but somehow raw nature has no effect on their makeup or caloric intake. Series is best suited for a younger millenials and Gen Z types who prefer trigger warnings and safe spaces to actual story-telling. Two stars tho, because zombies.
