If I knew how much of the book would be fighting I would NEVER have picked it up! Every fight means something for the development of the character, the political and cultural backdrop and the plot in general. The consequences for things going awry feel very real and ever present. The protagonist feels like a real, young man with a chip on his shoulder and everything to prove. His way of getting an edge is very unique. I want it to be adapted to film but feel quite protective over it! Evan please take your time, good things are worth waiting for.

Its unfortunately pushing the 'feminist' angle too obviously, I understand its an intrinsic part of the mothers character but it pervades everything in a way that is forced and dissapoints. Sherlock is caring, personable and far less interesting or intelligent, which seems to be more of an accident than an active choice to deviate from the famous character as we know him. It's a shame, I should love this but Im tired of team writers prioritising box ticking over the story itself. Please do give us strong female characters - but don't make all males pathetic or bad to it, thats not what feminism is, please stop!
