I am not particularly a fan of old westerns. Struggled to watch the show initially because of the slow pacing. I had not realised that I was at episode 4 already. I need to see more shows like this.
The show is amazing. I enjoyed almost all of it. Loved the cast and characters which felt very real. Themes of family, responsibility, accepting differences, etc are clearly shown and handled well. The slow pace builds to the finale and it works so well. However, every episode is beautifully designed character background and building.
My only problem is that the villain (great) is somehow realistic and sympathetic at time in his motivations but also too evil with most of the things he does. It feels too much to swallow his twisted sense morality knowing that he has to be lying to himself when he is being "human". However, he is very interesting to watch, and he is the threat that the other characters make him out to be.
Overall, love the story. 8.5/9 of 10. It's a shame there is no more but the story is complete and there should no further season.
