One of my all-time favorite movies. My only complaint is the extreme grain of the film stock used to shoot it, particularly noticeable now that I have a Blu Ray copy. The entire screen is crawling with this soup of specks, many of them of individual colors as if it were a kind of pointillism. This is particularly distracting on the skin of the characters. I don't know if it was because of the light the director wanted or needed to shoot in, and the film does have quite a few low light scenes. Other color films shot the same year do not have this problem, and it is definitely in the camera stock, not the print stock, as there are a few freeze-frame moments during the opening credits and for those the sandstorm of film grain freezes as well. Hopefully other viewers aren't as OCD as I am and can fully enjoy every other wonderful aspect of this delightful film without distraction.
